Hello! My name is Gerald and I own a large office block which is located in downtown Sydney. I am a very busy businessman so I spend a lot of time in my company offices on the telephone and having meetings. Last year, I noticed that the place was getting a bit untidy and I didn't want my staff to waste time cleaning the place up when they could be making more money for the company. I asked around and found a great cleaning company who now visit my office block twice a week to make sure it is super clean. My staff are much happier and so am I. This blog details the benefits of calling in a professional cleaner.
Being one of the first items that guests see when they enter your house, carpets certainly have a big say on how tidy your home is. Proper cleaning goes a long way in prolonging their lifespan and keeping them looking clean and hygienic.
Besides the regular dry vacuuming done to remove the loose dirt and debris that settles on carpets over time, wet cleaning is required to get rid of the more stubborn dirt. Unfortunately, your carpets may become over-saturated from too much water being left behind cleaning. This can damage your carpets and also leave a musty odour behind.
Check out these two cleaning methods you can use to avoid over-saturating your carpets.
Encapsulation Cleaning
Encapsulation is a low-moisture carpet cleaning method that involves spraying an encapsulating chemical onto a carpet and then using an oscillating pad or rotary brush machine to clean the carpet once the chemical is absorbed into the carpet fibres.
The chemical allows for the breaking of the bonds between the carpet fiber and the dirt. It then attracts the loose soil particles and any saturated solution in the carpet, which collects to form crystals upon drying.
Afterward, vacuuming is done to do away with the crystals, leaving your carpet looking pristine. Keep in mind using the wrong brush to agitate the chemical into the carpet may damage your carpet. Use cleaning brushes recommended for your carpets.
Besides being a low-moisture cleaning method, encapsulation offers other advantages, which include allowing almost immediate use of the carpet after cleaning and making it hard for your carpet to trap dirt.
Carpet Shampoo Cleaning
This is the old-fashioned alternative to encapsulation cleaning of carpets. It involves applying the shampoo to the carpet with the use of your hands or machine. The shampoo is then worked into the carpet layers using an air compressor or a rotary brushing machine.
The agitation causes the dirt particles to move to the uppermost layer of the carpet where it settles. The shampoo is then given time to take effect in the carpet before it is vacuumed together with the dirt particles.
Carpet shampoo cleaning allows for high agitation of dirt particles, which in turn, makes it easy to clean them off when vacuuming.
Leaving your carpets in a damp state after carpet cleaning can ruin the carpets but also encourage microbial growth, which may lead to contamination of your indoor air. This, in turn, will compromise the health of your family. If you're not confident to do the carpet cleaning job yourself, don't hesitate to contact a carpet-cleaning professional for assistance.
